LUCAMA, NC – Limited Late Models headline Saturday night’s Solid Rock Carriers Spring Explosion at Southern National Motorsports Park, and the division is expected to deliver breathtaking racing action once again.
When the Limited Late Model division began their season on March 31st, they did so in force. A field of 19 cars, the strongest field of cars at Southern National this season to date, converged on the high banks. Chris Chapman ended up scoring the victory over Andrew Grady and Paul Williamson.
This weekend, those familiar faces will return, along with others, such as Justin Gill, Brian Obiedzenski, Brandon Whitley, Ashlyn McCaskill and more.
The Limited Late Model division will be the headline act, but it could be the Any Car class that steals the show. The division has surged in popularity this season with drivers such as Chris Hales, Dakota Tomlinson, Mike Parrish, Jake Stroud, Damon Stroud and others competing at the 4/10-mile Southern National Motorsports Park.
Mini-Stocks will be in action as James Stroud prepares to take over for Ronnie “Buckshot” Jones. Stroud will face off with track regulars such as Joseph Pittman. In the Legends division, Emily Day will be chasing her first division victory after two strong performances, but Eric Courtney comes in riding a wave of momentum after scoring his first career Southern National victory two weeks ago. Bandolero racing will also take place.
Saturday’s Solid Rock Carriers Spring Explosion will get underway at 7pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and kids five and under free.
