Giovanni Bromante will make his first Southern National Motorsports Park on Saturday night in the first race of the year for the Fast Five Pro Late Model Series.
Bromante, who was featured on the TruTV reality series “Kart Life”, has never raced at Southern National, but he has been able to learn the track through the popular racing simulator iRacing. For the last month, Giovanni has been spending time on the simulation making laps around the facility on a laser-scanned replica of the track.
“I’m really excited to get back in the car this weekend,” Bromante said. “I’m mostly excited because last race we worked through some of the hardest conditions and powered through them. That gave me a lot of confidence in myself and the team to finish the race without brakes. We’re getting better as a team and are improving every time out. I ’m setting my personal goal for a top five run, but if we can finish the race with the car in one piece, that’s my biggest goal for the weekend. As always, we’ll try to learn everything we can and have a lot of fun.”
The 15-year-old most recently competed in a race at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Tennessee, but brake problems derailed a strong performance. Bromante went on to finish the race in 14th.
Bromante races a Pro Late Model for David Gilliland Racing, a team that has quickly become one of the most successful teams in Super Late Model racing.
