LUCAMA, NC – Southern National Motorsports Park will soon be on iRacing.
During the offseason, the track was laser scanned to be added to iRacing, the popular racing simulator program used by professional racecar drivers and racing enthusiasts. In a blog post on the iRacing website, the developers of the racing simulator said they are hoping to have the track included in their December update or shortly after.
“We are also working on getting Southern National Motorsports Park into the December build as well,” the post on the official iRacing website stated. “This is going to come down to the wire but if we miss the December 8th build, the 4/10 mile track will be released shortly after the build.”
The addition of Southern National Motorsports Park will come after the conclusion of the 2015 season and during the winter, which will give drivers who already use the simulator an opportunity to get some virtual track time during the offseason.
iRacing is the most popular racing simulator and hosts many leagues, including leagues sanctioned by NASCAR. The simulator features over 72 tracks, including South Boston Speedway, Langley Speedway and most NASCAR Sprint Cup Series venues, as well as various types of cars, including Late Model Stock Cars, Super Late Models, SK Modifieds, Legends cars, Street Stocks and the cars run in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR XFINITY Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series.
