LUCAMA, NC – Southern National Motorsports Park will allow Pro Late Models to run sealed Super Late Model motors with restrictor plates in the Fast Five Pro Late Model Series in 2017.
After several discussions with some of the top Super Late Model engine builders, the Pro Late Model rule book has been amended to include the sealed motors. The amendments are as follows:
- All motors must have seals intake and not tampered with (seal numbers will be written down and verified)
- Weight will be the same
- AllStar Performance the “Governor” restrictor plate (Part Number 26060) with puck inserts 0.950
- 6400 RPM LIMIT
- All cars must come with drilled extra long carburetor bolt to seal carburetor to intake before Qualifying.
- All other rules apply
- All SLM teams must know that in an effort to keep competition competitive with Pro Late Crate competitors modifications to the rules may happen frequently.
“We have been getting a lot of phone calls about the Pro Late Model series this year and we think that this will help get the car count up a bit from last year,” track owner Michael Diaz said. “I have talked with the motor builders myself and they all agree that the RPM limit and the restrictor plate will get the motors equal on horsepower.”
The Fast Five Pro Late Model Series kicks off its season on Saturday, April 22nd as part of the SpringFest 300.
