LUCAMA, NC – Two races are better than one for the Chargers at Southern National Motorsports Park.
On Saturday night, June 27th, the Charger division will be running twin 20 lap races for the first time this season in the Pepsi Summer Heat Wave presented by Bridgestone and bonuses are up for grabs for the drivers in those twin Charger races.
The twin races put the Charger division in the spotlight on Saturday night with the opportunity for drivers to bring home as much as $700 in winnings for their efforts.
The bonuses in the Charger division include an additional $200 to any driver who sweeps both races or, if nobody does sweep, $100 to the driver with the best combined average finish in the two races.
Twin races could also shake the standings up dramatically.
Right now, Michael O’Brien leads the standings by one point over Paul Williamson and six points over Al Coombs. Tom Sauls and Nicholas Fulgham also find themselves in contention for the championship and a hard charging Travis Green, who took over Bruce Bizzell’s car at the second race of the season, could gain significant ground on the leaders. He sits 29 points back after missing the first race.
The Late Model division will also run twin races next Saturday. Along with the Chargers and Late Models, the U-CARs, Legends, Bandoleros and Piedmont Mini-Cups will all be in action.
