Alex Fleming returns to Southern National Motorsports Park with the complete package on May 28th.
Now most racers would want to know exactly what that complete package consists of. Well for the Raleigh North Carolina driver it consists of his family. Family which has grown over the last several years and now has become complete.
On May 7, 2016 Alex Fleming Married his soul mate Stephanie Elaine and with their 2 kids by their sides (Caleb 3yrs & Gwen 9 Months). So now racing like in life, it is complete.
“I started racing karts when I was 7 then I moved to cars when I was 13. I started out in the street stock division at Wake County Speedway, that’s been, WOW 20 years of driving in circles!” – Alex
Alex and his crew have been working on some new setup techniques since bump stops have been allowed at several of the tracks in the area. He drives an older A&E chassis with a 603 crate engine. Like most tracks in the Carolinas that run LMSC they always have a class for the 603 Crate.
“We have got some pretty cool stuff that we have been working on with this LMSC, our first time at Dillion we barely missed the pole and ran 2nd. We plan on going to different places more often the rest of the year and not being tied down to one particular track. Our new approach to these cars has added a lot of confidence in making the trips to new places and being close right off the trailer. I am going to try and go where the money is and if a track is trying to help out the racers by adding money to the purse or cutting our expenses at the track we will be there. I am going to support them. Southern National, South Boston and Carteret have been trying to help us racers out so those are the tracks I want to support.” – Alex
Racing is part of Alex Fleming family’s lifestyle, if you cannot find Alex behind the wheel of a race car on Saturday night you will definitely find him with his family at a race somewhere. Whether it is tailgating at their trackside spot at SNMP or sitting in the stands they will be at a race track.
When asked about sponsors his reply was “Mom & Dad, We pride ourselves in doing everything on our own so it is more gratifying when we do well against other higher budget teams”
The racing plans for Alex and his crew from one weekend to the next seems to be up in the air but one thing Alex is for sure about is
“Having a Beautiful wife and 2 awesome little ones is by far the best trophies I will ever win!!” – Alex
Come support Alex and his entire family this weekend at Southern National Motorsports Park.
