Bradley McCaskill from Raleigh and Chris Chapman both enjoyed victory lane this past Saturday night, each winning a feature in the BK Racing Late Model Stock Car division at Southern National Motorsports Park. The Nascar Whelen All American Series Hometown Track also saw Josh Van Winkle winning the Charger feature, Dillon Spain, Clayton grabbing the Legends checkered flag, Ronnie “Buckshot” Jones winning the UCAR event and Sanford speedster Blaise Brinkley nailing another victory in the Bandolero feature event.
The Papa Jack’s 200 kicked off with McCaskill holding off Chris Chapman for the victory in the 1st race for the BK Racing LMSC division. Michael Fose, Jacksonville had a great run to finish third followed by T.J. Barron and Tim Allensworth in 4th and 5th place when the checkered flag waved after 50 laps. The second 50 lap feature winner was Chapman who held off McCaskill for the win. Fose roared under the stripe in 3rd place followed by Tyler Matthews and Tim Allensworth.
The UCAR feature winner, Ronnie “Buckshot” Jones visited Renfrow Heating & Air victory lane holding off Aaron Crumpler, Brandon Allen, Joseph Pittman and Ashlyn McCaskill. Jones thanked his family, friends, fans and team from victory lane. The Charger division winner, Josh Van Winkle, Morehead City turned back repeated challenges from Jeremy Bohne, Lucama to win the 35 lap feature event. Robert Arch, Clayton and Michael Obrien rounded out your top four finishers. The Charger division superstars will be off the coming weekend as they prepare for twin 30 lap features on May 13th.
The Legend feature event winner Dillon Spain, Clayton and his DSM team have been on a winning streak and a $100 bounty didn’t slow the wheelman down. Spain grabbed the win over Eddie Fatscher, New York, N.Y. who had a great runner up finish. Will Bristle nailed down a strong 3rd place finish with Chris Stancil Raleigh in 4th and Ryan DeMartini, Greenville in 5th place. Sanford Bandolero driver, Blaise Brinkley added yet another “W” to his resume with victory in the feature event. Camryn Rice from Pilot roared under the checkered flag in P2 after setting fast time for the feature event. Emily Day rounded out the top 3 finishers. Clayton’s Jay Place watched from the stands, checking out the 4/10th’s of a mile speedplant and will run in the next Bando event.
This coming Saturday night, Southern National Motorsports Park roars back into action as the 2nd race for the Scott Farms Pro Late Model Division Super 7 Series roars back into Lucama. The series features the finest stars and cars of the southeast battling out over a 7 race series for a free LFR Chassis to the 2016 pro late model champion plus a $150 gift certificate for the hard charger of each race from Draco Racing by SRI. A fun filled evening of racing excitement and entertainment for family and friends this Saturday,great concessions, track swag, clean restrooms and friendly staff add up for a great night of action.
