Southern National Motorsports Park will begin paying drivers in cash the night of the race beginning with Saturday night’s Spring BreakOut. Instead of waiting for a check to arrive, drivers and team owners will be able to get paid in cash at the end of the race.
“It’s just another way to give back to the racers and get back to grassroots short track racing,” said track promoter Langley Austin. “I don’t like waiting for a check. I don’t think anyone else does either and we want to give the racers what they want. This season is all about getting Southern National back to being the drivers’ favorite place to come.”
Paying in cash the night of the race is just the latest in a series of offseason changes leading up to Saturday night’s Spring BreakOut, which will be the opening race for the 20th season of racing at Southern National Motorsports Park. The offseason changes have all been made to improve the racing quality on the track while also giving back to the drivers who support the venue.
“We’ve given racers every reason in the world to come here. A strong payout, bonuses, friendly staff, good food and much more to ensure that the racers feel welcome and want to race with us.”
Saturday night’s Spring BreakOut will feature racing for the Late Models, Chargers, U-CARS, Legends and Bandoleros. Practice begins at 4pm, grandstands open at 6pm, qualifying starts at 6:30pm and racing will go green at 7:15pm.
