Beautiful Carolina weather welcomed all to Southern National Motorsports Park Saturday evening for a special Memorial Weekend kickoff. Rusty Daniels of Kinston turned back all challengers to win both 40 lap features for the BK Racing Late Model Stock Car division at your hometown track for Nascar Whelen All American Series racing, SNMP. Dudley speedster, Michael Obrien flex his muscle winning the 35 lap Charger Feature with P.J. Flowers, Fremont grabbing the UCAR feature victory. Dustin Yeoman roared to victory in the 20 lap Bandolero event with Dillon Spain of Clayton winning the Legend 25 lap feature.
Rusty Daniels came to the park last night loaded for bear and visited victory lane twice in the BK Racing LMSC division, in the 1st 40 lap feature, Daniels held off hard charger from Raleigh, Deac McCaskill and Wilson’s Clay Jones to visit victory lane. Brenden Queen towed down from Virginia to finish 4th followed by Garner’s Alex Fleming rounding out the top five. The Kinston, N.C. Wheelman grabbed the 2nd twin once again with Clay Jones in 2nd place when the checkered flag flew. Knightdale’s Bradley McCaskill ran 3rd in the feature followed by Tyler Matthews, Richlands and Alex Fleming from Garner with another solid top 5 finish.
The Charger Division continues grow and Michael Obrien of Dudley continued his march to the Renfrow Heating and Air Victory Lane with a strong run. Clayton speedster, Robert Arch came home in 2nd place followed by Brian Obiedzenski with another fine run in 3rd place. The top 5 finishers were rounded out by Lucama’s Jerry Bohne and Jessie Council , Robersonville and his A Better Start Rehab T. Rex Camaro. A big SNMP welcome to Brian Obiedzenski’s mama who came down from N.Y. to see her son in action at the 4/10th’s of a mile speedplant.
The UCAR feature event winner, P.J. Flowers from Fremont,N.C. held off a great field of UCAR superstars to visit victory lane. Flowers held off “Buckshot” Ronnie Jones, Kenly followed by Brandon Allen of Goldsboro and Travis Miller from Onslow County, Aaron Crumpler, running in his grandfathers memory, rounded out your top 5 finishers.
The Bounty on Clayton, N.C.Wheelman, Dillon Spain continues to grow $100.00 a race as Mason Diaz, Manassa, Va. tried but couldn’t keep Spain out of victory lane. Diaz grabbed the runner up position. Alex Pacheco from California ran 3rd with Will Bristle, Raleigh and Kenneth Tripp, Raleigh rounding out your top 5 positions. Calling all Legend drivers from up and down the east coast, the bounty is $400.00 or more to knock off Spain and everybody is trying to win the bonus cash! Dustin Yeoman visited victory lane in the 20 lap Bandolero feature. Yeoman held off Charlotte winner, Blaise Brinkley, Josh Kossek, Jacob Bradley and Ethan Johnson, Fuquay-Varina rounded out the top 5 positions.
