LUCAMA, NC – Southern National Motorsports Park will play host to the hottest summer party of the weekend on Saturday night with the Pepsi Summer Heat Wave presented by Bridgestone, the fourth event of the 2015 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at Southern National.
Intense championship battles are taking shape in every division. In four of Southern National Motorsports Park’s five regular divisions, the top two drivers are separated by no more than four points. One of those divisions, the U-CAR division features a tie atop the championship standings between Travis Miller and Tyler Horne.
Andrew Grady has won three races in the Late Model division but he’s trailing Rusty Daniels by three points. Grady is tied for second in point with Jonathan Findley. Grady is looking to take over the points lead in Saturday night’s twin races after sweeping on June 13th. Grady’s toughest competition could come from Andrew Grady, who finished second in both races on June 13th.
Michael O’Brien holds a one point lead over Paul Williamson in the Charger division. The Bandolero division also features a tight battle. Victory eluded Kailey Murray on June 13th when she was spun out while leading, which allowed Josh Kossek to score his second win of the season. Kossek leads Murray in points by four points. Will Bristle leads the Legends points by 11 over Mason Diaz.
Last Race: Andrew Grady swept the twin Late Model feature races but it did not come easy for the 21-year-old. Jonathan Findley dominated the second of the two races, but a bump-and-run allowed Grady to score the win. Michael O’Brien got the lead late in the Charger race to win. Buckshot Jones also won with a late race pass in the U-CAR race. Will Bristle win in the Legends race and Josh Kossek won in the Bandolero race. Virginia drivers Jeff Davis and Jeff Stump won in the Mini-Cup races.
