Southern National Motorsports Park is looking at changing the rules in the Late Model Stock Car division to the current, by the book NASCAR Late Model Stock rules. We will have a meeting with the Late Model drivers during Saturday’s race to discuss this.
“I have had several drivers talk to me about going to NASCAR rules to help bring cars to Southern National Motorsports Park,” track owner Michael Diaz said. “With the current state of LMSC and different rules at almost every track, trying to bring SNMP back to current 2017 NASCAR rules might bring cars to SNMP.”
At this time, we are not looking at adding either the Chevrolet SPEC Motor or the Harrington motor. However, the new SPEC motor and the Harrington motor will undergo tests starting next month to see how we can bridge them in to the system for the Thanksgiving Classic.
