LUCAMA, NC – With rain imminent tomorrow from Tropical Storm Ana, Southern National’s Mother’s Day Special has been canceled. A makeup date will be determined and announced soon.
“With the east coast preparing for Tropical Storm Ana’s arrival on Sunday and bands of rain coming in ahead of the storms arrival, we feel it’s best to cancel tomorrow’s race,” said track promoter Langley Austin. “While the forecast has improved, it’s still going to be a wet and challenging day to have a race. The racers don’t deserve to sit around in between rain storms all day. We have a lot of teams traveling with the Hampton Roads Kart Club and the Southern Ground Pounders and we want to save them money.”
The next race for Southern National Motorsports Park will be next Sunday May 17th with the inaugural running of the Jerry Moody Memorial 100-lap $2,500 to win Late Model race.
