LUCAMA, NC – Saturday night’’s races at Southern National Motorsports Park will feature a mix of old school and new school racing, headlined by the Southern Modified Racing Series.
The Southern Modified Racing Series will bring today’s best Open Wheel Modifieds to Southern National in a racing program that also features two 40 lap duels for the Late Model Stock Car division. Meanwhile, Vintage Modifieds and Vintage Sportsman racecars will be competing at Southern National with the Southern Ground Pounders Vintage Racing Club.
Among the drivers traveling to Southern National Motorsports Park with the Southern Modified Racing Series is Burt Myers, the seven-time and defending Bowman Gray Stadium track champion, and Brandon Ward, the winner of the last two races in the Southern Modified Racing Series.
Late Model Stock Car racing will see veteran racers such as Rusty Daniels, Tim Allensworth and Adam Murray battle with young guns and rising stars under the lights in primetime for the first time in 2017. The first night race of 2017 will also see the return of the Street Stock division at Southern National for the first of five races during the regular season.
Saturday night’s Modified Invasion will also feature racing for the Charger, Mini Stock, Legend Cars and Bandolero classes.
Tickets for Saturday night’s races will be available at the gate. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for kids ages 7-14 and kids six and under free.
