Last week, Southern National Motorspors Park announced a program that will allow Late Model teams to purchase two Hoosier F-45 tires and get two free for the season opening Spring BreakOut on Saturday April 11th. Southern National decided to extend the program for the Jerry Moody Memorial on Sunday April 26th as well for drivers that compete in the Spring BreakOut.
Drivers who compete in the “Spring BreakOut” event will receive two new Hoosier F-45 tires free with the purchase of two new Hoosier F-45 tires courtesy of Howell Racing Products. Then once they come back to compete in the Jerry Moody Memorial, they will be able to utilize the same program. New teams showing up for the Jerry Moody Memorial will have to purchase four new tires but teams who are competing for the championship and attended the first race will be able to buy two and get two free.
“We’re trying to make sure that our lower budget teams can be on the same playing field with the bigger teams,” said track promoter Langley Austin. “This will help the teams that are looking to run for the championship with having two four-tire races back to back to open the season.
“We’re in a unique position with the blending of the Limited Late Models and Late Model Stocks. Equally we’re in a unique position with having a two-tire program but having two four tire races to start the season as we honor Jerry Moody with the second race of the season. With this buy two, get two free tire program, the Limited guys are covered with only having to buy two tires per race for the first two races. It takes away any disadvantage they would be at with a four tire program.”
The extension of the tire program is just part of many exciting things happening at Southern National Motorsports Park this season.
“We’re coming with all guns blazing this season with promotions and trying to get this track back among the elite short tracks in the country,” Austin stated. “I think this tire deal is a great start and we’ve got plenty more reasons for you to come and compete with us at Southern National this season. We’re not going to stop promoting once we get the season started; we’re going to be pumping out promotions all season long and the racing’s going to be hotter than ever.”
The Spring BreakOut will be held on Saturday, April 11th at Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama, North Carolina.
