LUCAMA, NC – Southern National Motorsports Park will be holding a 50/50 raffle at the Friday, August 4th race to raise funds for Ashley Stott, the driver of the Red Rock Monster Truck.
Ashley is married to Alice Langley Stott. They have 3 young boys. He is employed with the City of Wilson as a fire hydrant coordinator. Stott was diagnosed with diabetes and a week ago, while at work, he passed out.
Stott was airlifted to Duke Medical Center where he was diagnosed with a rare blood disease, aHUS, Atypical Hemolytic-Uremic Syndrome. Since then, his liver and kidneys have failed and he has been receiving dialysis. He has also had a large stroke on his left side and small mini strokes on the right side. He now has swelling on his brain which can also cause his heart to stop due to the position of the swelling. He cannot have surgery to remove he swelling because of the blood disease attacking his good platelets.
Stott is a kind soul. He has organized many fundraisers for others and several charity events. He has an infectious smile and personality, love fishing, is a very giving person and would help anyone that needed it. He is still in Intensive Care Unit at Duke and in very critical condition.
The 50/50 raffle will be held at the races scheduled for Friday, August 4th.
