LUCAMA, NC – Southern National Motorsports Park will be offering discounts to fans through social media for the Summer Heat Wave presented by Bridgestone on Saturday, June 27th.
Southern National Motorsports Park will make a post on Facebook and a tweet on Twitter and fans can share or retweet the post and “like” the Southern National Motorsports Park Facebook page or follow @SNM_Park on Twitter and, by doing so, will get $3 off their general admission tickets at the gate.
“We like engaging our fans on social media,” track promoter Langley Austin said. “We are very active on Facebook and Twitter with posting news about the drivers, races and upcoming promotions. We’re also active during the races on Twitter, posting updates throughout each of the races for our fans in the stands and those who can’t make it to the races. We want to give something back to all our fans that are active on social media and help get the word out about ‘the Drama in Lucama’.”
Fans who share the image that’s posted on Facebook and Twitter can bring their smartphones to the gate and show that they follow the track on social media and shared the post publicly and they will get $3 off one general admission grandstand ticket for the race.
“Social media is the wave of the future,” Austin continued. “A lot of our drivers are active on Facebook and Twitter and do a lot to promote themselves and the track. It’s certainly a game changer. It’s another way fans can interact with us but also interact with their favorite drivers. A lot of people get most of their racing news on Facebook and Twitter has really taken off. There are other platforms as well such as Instagram and Periscope that also bring fans closer to the short track world.”
Austin has been active on social media when he founded and oversaw day to day operations at RACE22.com which has become the region’s leading source for short track racing news and information. That included news bulletins on Facebook, live race updates on Twitter as well as other promotions.
“There are so many people on social media now and I think every track should embrace it and use it more,” Austin remarked. “Social media has more reach now than even cable news and many newspapers and magazines. We’re very active on Facebook and Twitter at Southern National Motorsports Park and it’s good for the track, the drivers and the fans.”
The Social Saturday promotion will run for the next race at Southern National Motorsports Park which will be held on Saturday night, June 27th. The race, dubbed the Summer Heat Wave presented by Bridgestone, will feature twin Late Model races as well as racing in the Charger, Legends, U-CAR and Badolero divisions and a return for the small but fast Piedmont Mini-Cups.
