2026 NORTH-SOUTH SHOOTOUT VINTAGE RULES

 

ANY CHASSIS THATS 15 YEARS OLD OR OLDER WITH A VINTAGE APPEARING BODY

 

NO DIRT CARS

 

MUST START RACE ON SAME TIRES AS QUALIFYING, QUALIFYING TIRES MAY BE NEW

 

SPORTSMAN

 

ENIGNE

  1. Any steel small block V8 or Inline 6 only NO BIG BLOCKS, NO SB2, NO LS
  2. Must be located in chassis with front spark plug in line with center of ball joint + or – 1.5 inches
  3. Any carb No fuel injection

 

DRIVETRAIN

  1. Any transmission and rear end

 

CHASSIS

  1. Perimeter, straight rail or offset chassis 15 years old or older.
  2. Any shocks, no canisters
  3. Coil over or big spring
  4. No ride height rule

 

BODY

  1. Steel or aluminum, must be stock appearing 1980 or older American manufacturer
  2. NO plastic front or rear bumper covers
  3. NO aftermarket front spoilers
  4. 8 inch max rear spoiler
  5. No more than 4 inches of tire sticking out past fenders or rub rails

 

 

TIRE & WHEEL

  1. Any 10 inch tire and steel wheel any offset

 

FUEL

  1. Race fuel or pump gas
  2. No alcohol
  3. No nitrous

 

WEIGHT

  1. Inline 6 weighs 200 lbs less
  2. Perimeter minimum 2800 lbs
  3. Offset or straight rail 3000 lbs

 

MODIFIEDS

 

ENGINE

  1. Any steel Small block V8 NO BIG BLOCKS, NO SB2, NO LS
  2. Wet or dry sump
  3. Any carb (only 1 carb allowed)

 

DRIVETRAIN

  1. Any transmission and rear end

 

CHASSIS

  1. Offset or straight rail chassis 15 years old or older.
  2. Any shocks, no canisters
  3. Coil over or big spring
  4. No ride height rule

 

BODY

  1. Steel or aluminum, must be stock appearing 1980 or older American manufacturer
  2. 8 inch max rear spoiler
  3. Allowed models:
    1. 1930s–40s coaches/coupes
    2. Chevy Vega (’70–’77)
    3. Ford Pinto (’71–’80)
    4. Ford Falcon (’60–’70)
    5. AMC Gremlin (’70–’78)
    6. Chevy Camaro (’67–’69)
    7. Pontiac Firebird (’67–’69)
    8. Ford Mustang (’64–’78)
    9. Chevy Monza (’75–’80)
  4. (No fabricated sheet metal creations.)
  5. Early Era Chevy Cavalier Bodies Allowed (Must Represent What was Raced during that ERA)
  6. NO – Modern – Style Bodies
  7. Single Nerf Bar

 

TIRE & WHEEL

  1. Any 10 inch or 15 inch tire and steel wheel any offset

  1. Race fuel or pump gas
  2. No alcohol
  3. No nitrous

 

WEIGHT

  1. Minimum 2600 lbs

 

Any interpretation or deviation of these rules and procedures is left to the discretion of SNMP and NSS Officials, whose decisions are final.

You may contact the SNMP/NSSs Technical Director for clarity. It is the responsibility of the Driver, NOT the Technical Director or Tour Promoter or Track Representative, to ensure that their race car meets the specifications noted prior to entering any Event.
